Led by Dr. Neil Cashman, PrioNet Canada's pan-Canadian network of research excellence includes over 90 diverse scientific members working with hundreds of students and young professionals in partnership with international collaborators, government, non-government organizations, and industry.

PrioNet funds multidisciplinary research, provides training and network opportunities, facilitates the transfer of research results to commercial uses, and promotes knowledge exchange. PrioNet supports over thirty different projects led by investigators from across Canada.

Video

The Alberta Prion Research Institute provduced a prion video. The video provides insight into what a prion protein is, the role prions play in diseases such as mad cow and chronic wasting disease, and the issues scientists are facing today as they study the global impact of those diseases.
