Important Deadlines

Mark your calendars! The next deadline for education and training applications for review by PrioNet's Education and Training Committee is September 15, 2010. Check out all of the PrioNet training programs available with selected information listed below. Please note that some programs require acceptance prior to submitting your PrioNet application. Read each program requirement carefully.

Write Now!

Attention all aspiring writers! The next deadline for Write Now! submissions is November 12th, 2010. Write Now!  is a training opportunity that encourages article submissions by highly qualified personnel (HQP) to PrioNet Canada’s quarterly newsletter, PrioNews. Articles can feature research projects, training experiences, or current events related to the prion and allied sciences that would be of interest to PrioNet and its network. For more information about the program, click here.

Other Training Opportunities Available

Bioinformatics Workshop – Various registration deadlines
Canadian Bioinformatics also has various courses available in September 2010. View their website for details. PrioNet has travel support and registration fee coverage available to attend.

AFMNet Professional Development School, January 27-28
PrioNet will provide support to send HQP to this valuable workshop, set to take place in Toronto next January 27-28, 2011. Apply now! For more information about the application process, click here.

MITACS Skills Training & Entrepreneurship Program (Step) - Workshops
Travel support is available from PrioNet to attend these workshops located in various cities across Canada! Communications coaching, team building, learning how to manage multiple timelines and projects are starting to be viewed as important as more traditional approaches to education and technical training, which is why Step was developed. PrioNet's sister network, MITACS is offering Step workshops to SYPA and PrioNet Members FREE of charge. Visit PrioNet's site for links to MITACS Step and how to apply.
