PrioNet’s strategic research partner is the Alberta Prion Research Institute (APRI) (www.prioninstitute.ca), which in January 2010 became part of Alberta Innovates - BioSolutions. APRI has leveraged 50% of PrioNet’s research projects over the last four years and provides a value-added strategic federal provincial alliance. Beyond research, PrioNet collaborates with APRI on significant knowledge translation endeavors, such as PrP CANADA - the second largest prion conference in the world, public outreach, training opportunities for students and other young professionals, and the development of scientific and policy meetings.
