Open competition. Applicants must qualify for Network Membership, and have an appointment with an NCE-approved academic institution, and meet guidelines for funding by the Tri-Council agencies and where specified the CIHR.                 

Funding for one year with carry-forward provision.

High Impact

Supports:
• Research urgencies or scientific breakthroughs in response to TSE events;
• Research projects that have the potential of producing significant scientific gain or socio-economic impact related to TSE events; or
• Research projects that challenge current concepts and address unexplored areas of prion research.

Proof of Principle

Support innovation and help investigators working on prion diseases advance discoveries or inventions towards commercial-ization.

Open competition. Applicants must qualify for Network Membership, and have an appointment with an NCE-approved academic institution, and meet guidelines for funding by the Tri-Council agencies.

<$200,000; grant awarded over a one-year period; non-renewable.
