Appeal Mechanism
The Executive Director of the Network will review appeal requests and report to the Board of Directors. The Executive Director's report shall discuss whether (and how) the appeal in question has unveiled procedural errors against the applicants. The Board will receive the Executive Director's report and decide whether to dismiss or to forward the appeal for further evaluation by an ad-hoc committee. The decision of the Board of Directors will be final. Should the Board of Directors favor further evaluation, the appeal mechanism is restricted to the Selection Process itself and excludes the Scientific Advisory Committee recommendations. The ad-hoc committee will review the issue and submit a report with recommendations to the Board for consideration. The Board will review the report and render a final decision on the appeal. The Board’s decision will be communicated to the parties involved and to the NCE Directorate.
